The Process of Booking a Photo Shoot

Once you reach out, we’ll start by chatting about a few key details to make sure the shoot fits you perfectly:

  • Date: we’ll pick a day that works for everyone — make sure no one has to rush off to work, class, or an event.

  • Duration: this usually depends on the number of people, outfit changes, and locations.

  • Location: we’ll decide together what setting fits your vibe best — the city, nature, or somewhere special to you.

  • Package: we’ll go over how many photos you’d like, whether you want an album, and what’s included.

  • Must-have photos: I always like to hear what moments or groupings are especially meaningful to you.

  • Price: the total depends on time, people, and location. It’s split between a small down payment to book your date and the remaining balance later on.

Once everything’s agreed, I’ll send a simple contract — it’s signed digitally. It helps us keep everything clear and smooth.

About a week before the session, we’ll plan outfits together.

Take a look at my post on choosing what to wear — it has some helpful tips. After we agree on a general color palette, I’ll ask everyone to either:

  • Ideally, that all people involved put on their outfits (including shoes) and send me a quick photo, or

  • lay everything out on the bed — yes, shoes too! — and send a picture so we can see how it all works together.

Make sure clothes are ironed and stay that way — hang them in the car to avoid wrinkles on the way.

I also love knowing a bit about everyone joining the shoot — especially the kids. Share their names and a few details about their personalities; it helps me connect with them and make the experience fun.

Before the big day, I’ll share a tentative timeline so everyone knows what to expect and can just enjoy the flow once we start.
